Institutional commitment

Operational continuity.

This page sets out the concrete commitments and the structural footing that guarantee PickleDeck's continuity for the federations, leagues, committees and clubs that use it as their tournament infrastructure. It complements our security page with the governance and handover details.

1. The founder

Robin Cassard, founder of PickleDeck. A software engineer and pickleball player rooted in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté community, he created PickleDeck to meet the needs of his own community before turning it into an infrastructure open to French pickleball.

The company and the project are structured to last independently of the founder (see the “Continuity commitments” section).

2. Structure and governance

Mission: build the digital infrastructure of French pickleball.

3. Technical subprocessors

The PickleDeck platform relies on six specialised technical subprocessors, all under contract (DPA or Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the European Union). No critical data is processed in-house outside this documented scope.

Six technical subprocessors

  • Supabase (AWS Dublin): PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security, hosted in the EU
  • Vercel: hosting of the Next.js application, global CDN
  • HelloAsso (France): payments for associations, a long-standing French partner
  • Stripe: card payments and Stripe Connect (direct payouts to organisers)
  • Resend: transactional emails (DKIM, SPF, DMARC)
  • Cloudinary: image storage and CDN (posters, logos, avatars)

Accounting, legal compliance and administrative formalities are outsourced case by case as the project needs, with no dependence on a single provider.

4. Continuity commitments

The heart of this page. Six concrete, quantified and enforceable commitments that guarantee your data and your tournaments survive any major event affecting the company.

Notice before closing down

At least 30 days

Individual notification to every user in case of a planned shutdown. No surprise cut-off.

Data recovery

90 days after notification

A full JSON and CSV export that any customer can download at any time, regardless of any incident.

Backups

Daily, kept for 7 days (Pro plan)

Encrypted snapshots managed by Supabase (EU region, Dublin). Data export available for download on customer request.

Source code escrow

To be activated in Q2 2026

On contractual request, the PickleDeck source code is deposited with a trusted third party (Lex Persona or Logitas), accessible to structuring partners if the company fails.

On-call backup developer

Takeover in < 7 days, to be activated in Q2 2026

A contract with a third-party developer able to take over the code in under 7 days if the founder is unavailable. The ability to run and fix the platform with no critical interruption.

Reversibility plan

< 30 days to another provider

A documented migration procedure: structured export, mapping of dependencies, support for switching to an alternative provider.

5. Financial strength

Business model. No subscription and no set-up fee for organisers. A commission applies to paid entries; the details are given on request. PickleDeck also earns revenue through structuring partnerships with sports institutions (federations, leagues, committees, premium clubs).

Diversification. No single customer accounts for a critical share of revenue. The company's survival does not depend on any one partnership.

Financial visibility. PickleDeck has financial visibility over several years thanks to a recurring business model and controlled equity. The continuity commitments above are made with this visibility in mind.

6. Trajectory

Current phase

Product consolidation

First active institutional partnerships (Ligue Bourgogne-Franche-Comté FFT). Technical structure stabilised across all sanctioned competitions, from club to international level.

Next phase

Team growth and institutional roll-out

Expanding the operating structure, depending on the growth of structuring partnerships. A clear trajectory, but with no commitment to dates or headcount at this stage.
